Today, we heard a broadcasted preview of ‘Aha!’ on www.imogenheap.com and we are extremely keen to use it as our final track. Whilst listening to ‘Aha!’, we realized it’s an extremely mysterious song, quite the unconventional sound. Its main attraction to us is its fast pace, unusual chirpy rhythm, and eccentric lyrics. It’s dramatic tone in particular fascinated us, as it’s unusual in modern times to find an electronic/indie track of this nature. We both pictured eerie images and abstract silhouettes in response to the track’s peculiar quality. To achieve this representation, we have realised using the human body to create these images would be the best form of approach. This had lead us to the concept of abstracting ballet and street dance. We feel using this approach to performance; we can clearly put across our individual interpretation of the music, which for Imogen Heap is a very important factor when constructing her material.
